Megan Bethell is a final year medical student in the Graduate Entry Program at RCSI. Before attending medical school, she completed her Honours Bachelor’s of Science at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She graduated in 2021 with a specialization in cardiorespiratory physiology, which she achieved through completion of an undergraduate thesis in the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences, studying the effect of COVID-19 antiviral drugs on cardiac ion channel expression and function. During her medical school career at RCSI, she joined the PRiCAN research group in 2024, during her second year of studies. Her involvement with PRiCAN includes ongoing systematic reviews relating to primary care prescribing patterns in pancreatic cancer, and interventions aimed at early detection of breast cancer.
